Automatic transmission fluid
Match the fluid to the exact transmission, not just the vehicle model. A drain-and-refill amount differs from the total dry capacity.
IntervalNormal: first change at 120,000 mi or 6 years. Severe: first change at 60,000 mi or 3 years; the tables show later changes at 90,000 and 120,000 mi. Subsequent time limits require the correct body manual.Verified

Configuration-specific service and fitment facts
These sourced values are shared by the specification sheet and the maintenance guides for this exact configuration.
- Automatic transmission drain and refill
- 2.9 US qt Verified
- Automatic transmission fluid
- Honda Genuine ATF DW-1 (replaces ATF-Z1) Verified
- Level and compatibility
- Use the specified fluid and the transmission-specific level-check procedure. Conventional ATF, belt-CVT fluid and manual gear oil are not interchangeable.
- Schedule applicability
- U.S. schedule. Use severe conditions when driving mainly on trips under 5 miles (under 10 miles in freezing weather), above 90°F/32°C, with extensive idling or stop-and-go driving, a roof rack or mountain roads, or muddy, dusty or de-iced roads. Occasional severe use follows normal conditions.
- Service quantity
- 2.7 L is the change quantity, not total fill. Check the fluid warm with the car level. The coupe and sedan provide different checking details and total capacities; verify the actual body manual. Use DW-1 per the later Honda supersession, not a CVT fluid.
