Castrol Transmax DEX/MERC Automatic Transmission Fluid

DEXRON III-compatible automatic-transmission fluid · One container holds 1 US gallon (3.785 L). Castrol specifies DEXRON-IIIH compatibility. Confirm the installed automatic transmission and use GM’s filter-change and level-check procedure; a complete service also requires its correct filter and seal. The routine refill quantity and those parts remain unverified, so this gallon is not a complete service kit.

Level and compatibility: Use the specified fluid and the transmission-specific level-check procedure. Conventional ATF, belt-CVT fluid and manual gear oil are not interchangeable.
Severe-service conditions: For this non-Allison transmission, the 50,000-mile fluid-and-filter service applies with GVWR above 8,600 lb, frequent traffic at 90°F (32°C) or hotter, mountainous use, frequent trailer towing, or taxi/police/delivery service. Otherwise the first fluid-and-filter service is at 100,000 miles. Confirm the installed transmission and obtain the required filter, seal and service procedure before purchase.
